Povidone-Iodine

Ensure the area is clean. Apply Betadine Antiseptic Topical Solution undiluted to the injured area two or three times daily or as required. May be covered with gauze, adhesive dressing or bandaged if required.

Do not heat prior to application. Do not use if hypersensitive to iodine or povidone. Do not use if neck seal is broken. Do not mix with other wound treatment preparations, disinfectants, detergents or other chemicals. Do not use if known to have thyroid disease including goiter, thyroid nodules, or other thyroid diseases (especially elderly patients) as there may be a risk of developing hyperthyroidism. Do not use for 4 weeks prior to thyroid cancer treatment.
